La costa afortunada
Beyond the large tourist developments, resorts and beaches with hammocks, there are small, unspoiled villages on the coast of the Canary Islands. These settlements have a unique personality and portray a lifestyle closely linked to the organic and with a strong sense of community.
“La costa afortunada” is a personal photographic project by Rubén Acosta and is composed of images of villages almost unknown even to the majority of residents. They are spaces of resistance to progress, far from tourist routes, on the edge of the social and natural, and that often do not even appear on maps. Countercultural nuclei that survive as encapsulated amidst the absolute reign of hyperconnection and the massive travel industry.
