'Symphony in Tide Minor', where music meets surfing.
(…) music, just like surfing, it’s all about waiting for your moment to come. These words came to our conversation with Ramón during the process of recording this case study.
But let's start from the begining. Back in 2019 @zoebarcelo took a few photos in Tenerife. Just another day of surfing, apparently. 6 years later we made them part of the ‘Welcome Surfaholics’ Collection. Then, a few weeks ago we asked Ramón @ramon.mira.guit to play those notes. The following experimental piece of music is the result.
Ramón is a historian and a nurse by profession, a surfer and a musician by passion. We met him living in Tenerife more than 8 years ago. We had a great time there and in Lanzarote.
Ramón has been playing the guitar since he was 15, although his first encounter with the instrument was with his uncle’s guitar when he was 8, playing on an olive-green leather sofa.
He has devoted the last year entirely to jazz, taking an intensive course at the Sedajazz music school in Valencia. So, when Zoe created the design 'Symphony in Tide Minor' he sought Ramón’s help to fine-tune the staves and ensure the greatest possible accuracy.
At that photoshoot made by @pacotwo and @studiocrudos, Coral @coralwantier and Fruncho @fruncho wear the t-shirts. It’s no coincidence: Fruncho is also a surfer and the musician behind @goodfrancomusic.
