Design and surfing, both together in Fly Black Bird. 😎
We met Pedro Falcão last autumn in Figueira da Foz at the Gliding Barnacles surfing festival. A few people told us about him and his project Fly Black Bird. We were lucky, he was there! He told us about his work and his particular way of linking design and surfing. We loved the idea. Also loved his books. See the stringer right in the middle of the book? That’s smart. 👌😏
As Pedro says, "Fly Black Bird is a young brand created by the graphic designer Pedro Falcão. It’s a project based on is singular approach to surf and what is usually described as surf culture, expressed by the creation of surfboards and books. The creative direction of this concept is founded in a look into the past with eyes pointed to the future, to find “The Past Shapes of the Future.” As contribution to the community and surf culture in Portugal and abroad".
