Gliding Barnacles here we go!
A few weeks ago, Jordi came to our store and we had a great chat. He loved the brand. (Thank you Jordi 💘 ☺ ). He said “guys you must bring Latitud Fuego to Gliding Barnacles. Go talk to Eurico.” So we talked to Eurico -founder of Gliding Barnacles- and suddenly Portugal entered our plans for October.

The proposal of Gliding Barnacles is simple: art, music and surfing. People seating on sofas in front of the surf break. Friends and sardinhas at Figueira da Foz. We discovered this festival a few years ago thanks to the good taste shown in theirs visuals. Also thanks to the pictures of creative profiles we love and admire such as Coke founder of Itsonlywater.

Lanzarote-Cádiz is a 36 hours trip by ferry connecting the islands to mainland. You get on the boat on a Saturday night, you leave the boat a Monday morning.
Now, two types of people are now revealed:
A. “No way, I am not doing that. I’ll die of seasick”. That is Geo.
B. “No internet? No signal? Oh wow! Love it let’s go!”. That is Zoe.
Packing a van in 24 hours is easy. Making a prediction for a 5-day festival is not that easy. We though this would be a good chance to show the ‘Welcome surfaholics’ collection at GB. Should we bring all the styles? Just a selection? How about Lava Waves? Shall we bring with us for winter ’25? We’ll also work a few days with our Portuguese suppliers and do a follow up of the new coming soon collections :)

So, back to the ferry. How is life here?
The ferry is a great opportunity to complete undone to-do lists. Reading is a good option. Listening to other’s conversations. Even making a new 82 years old friend! Do not waste your time, time flies :)

We’ve experienced both ways of traveling in this ferry: with and without a private cabin. Cabins are comfortable. We are serious about that. The most silent and darker way to rest (definitely valuable). Bathroom included. Warm light is not an option, sorry. Do not trust Wifi connection.
So, just sit and relaaaaax!
