‘Surfing Goods’ by Latitud Fuego brings three artisans together: Lorena Mazzola, Jon Garmendia & Macho Fins. How did this happen?
Let’s start from the beginning. On one hand, we met Jon in Imsouane last year during the log trip @itsonlywater x @jongarmendia. Not only he is a great renowned surfer, but he also shapes his own surfboards @garmendiasurfboards. We were very lucky to find him at his studio in Zarautz, the Basque Country, where he showed us the whole process of shaping.
On the other hand, we discovered Mazzola accessories and appreciated so much their quality and special care in the details. We went to Lorena’s studio in the south of Tenerife, the Canary Islands, where she designs and crafts also by hand every single item. But not only she is a wonderful artisan, she is also a great longboarder. Now guess: what fin does she ride? The special edition Macho Fins x Garmendia. Size 10’. One last detail: Macho Fins -run by The Macho Brothers in Cantabria, northern Spain- uses top quality fibreglass, resin and dyes, and each and every fin is made by hand to the highest standard.
Easy, right? The only thing we needed to do was to create a product to connect all these talented people. The first leather cover for fins. Top quality. Handcrafted. Only for passionate surfers. Are you?
